WILF 48,100
Honestly, have they got f**k all better to do ?...........what the f**k is the point of dragging that girl through the court system, they could have just popped round and told her the score and returned the money. Absolutely mental ! As for handing it in, it depends on your situation I suppose.......I'm sure most blokes in here would just hand it in as it wouldn't matter that much but it may have been pennies from heaven for that girl, who knows.......no crime here imho
Silversnake 1,099
If I see someone drop money I let them know unless I really don't like the look of them, which has happened only once (I think) but if I find money on the ground it is mine.
jok 3,388
I found a wallet on a garage forecourt. Looking for ID (honest) I found cash and 2 chequers to the tune of £4500.00. Found the address and set off about 12 miles to give it back. Found the place and a lovely lady was full of gratitude for my honesty, asked me wait there a moment, went indoors and fetched me a bottle of wine as a thank you. Would I hand another one in?? Open to debate. Lol. Jok.
Lid 194
Wilf point is spot on. I am sure she would simply have given it over had she been requested to.Years ago I found a a wallet containing money outside my local pub, but nothing in it to identify the owner. I asked around, including in the chip shop next door, and then handed it to the new pub landlord personally. A few days later the real owner was traced by the chip shop as a regular customer and so I went to get the wallet. However it was gone and the chip shop assumed I'd nicked it. I had to send them round to speak to the pub landlord directly. Since then if I find money or wallets etc, I make my own enquiries to return it. I remember one occasion where I went out of my way to return a purse I found in the road to a girl student and she treated me like I was a criminal (I appreciate she may just have been wary, but it was odd).In this case for a £20 note, I'm not sure, but I wouldn't just give it to a random member of the shop staff, although to be fair I may not have thought about the loser being on CCTV. C556 351
It depends where you find the money. I found a £50 note in a car park at night a few months ago and it went straight into my pocket. A month back there was £ sitting in a bank machine so I took it out and handed it into the bank. When I went back to draw some money out of the machine a gentleman asked if I had seen any money lying. He seemed surprised when I told him I had handed it in.
