I don't know about Capt. Edwards but Jocelyn Lucas regularly wrote that he'd have anything up to 15 of his Sealyhams to ground on a badger at the same time.

I read that too in Hunt and Working Terriers i think? Bet there was some sob stories n worse outcomes that weren't wrote of. Dog in first could never have quit! On a more serious note though it had to be a nightmare at times and there must have been some very unhappy endings.
