darrren 414
Ok my sister has rats about the garden and the side of the house, she saw a big un and the dogs were after it. I got two victors, baited with peanut butter and made a cubby box out of a council waste food bin. Put it on the side of the hoise last night, both traps gone off, peanut butter gone, no rats. Any ideas for when I reset em later? Quote Link to post
The one 8,487
Oblivious one is you set them too heavy ? rats are wary of anything new and i think it would take up to a week to enter that trap so maybe mice or slugs tripped the trap ?. 1 Quote Link to post
darrren 414
Had them set really light, there was alot of peanut butter on both and Down the side of her house is full of junk and rubbish so I think they would of gone in fairly fast. Can't imagine it being slugs. Quote Link to post

Welsh_red 4,671
Maybe the wobbling of the recycle tub when they went in there set it off Quote Link to post

socks 32,253
Mice can strip a trap of bait and if it goes off it will miss them due to their size ....... 3 Quote Link to post
stormyboy 1,352
Just had that happen with some kanias. Found a mouse stuck behind the bait mesh! Quote Link to post
darrren 414
There's definitely rats about the place, I cant see it being mice. Quote Link to post

Agree with you socks. Most likely mice, or at the very least little juvenile rats. Quote Link to post
BRY 79
Tie some bacon onto the trip plate, so they have to work at getting the bait off 1 Quote Link to post
Terrier15 52
I set mine off sometimes in my workshop if I walk around too heavily. Got a wooden floor and if the wind slams the door they can go off as well. Quote Link to post
