Guest SJM
Ok slight exaggeration there, but we might as well have been, it was howling a gale, there was a real thick pea souper of a fog and the terrain was very steep and the heather very thick, it was rough going in places but we had an invite from the keeper to help him flush and retreive the shot hares so we couldnt refuse Me and Chester looked everywhere for haggi (the plural for haggis'es ) but we couldnt find any, we think maybe the mist drove them to ground? Heres some stills from the footage of the day, hope youse enjoy. I think Chester will be along at some point to show off his pics from the day, which are always top class Quote Link to post

minion 29
Fantastic pics. Ive been sitting in an office all day - fancy a swap?? I've never actually worked mountin hare. Saw some years back at the Lamurmuir hills. Whats the law on walkin the dogs on the moors? Can anyone walk them or are they owned by an individual land owner? Quote Link to post
Guest SJM
Anyone can walk the moors, there are paths all over them which are marked with white markers and are part of the southern upland way. Dont be confused by the "southern" bit though its certainly more upland than anything else. However if you havent been invited by the keeper, and you dont have a gun to shoot the hares before sending your dog to retrieve them you could get into a bit of trouble Quote Link to post

Guest SJM
Well accidents can and do happen If it was me I would feel terribly guilty about it so much so, If I spotted someone coming along, I would accidentally drop the hare into a bit of cover or a rabbit hole somewhere I would be able to find it again Quote Link to post
