DIDO.1 22,838
Would cctv, put in my garden and pointing at my workshop, put off thieves or would it advertise you things worth stealing?
j1985 1,984
Bit or both I'd have thought! I'd rather have it myself though, at least then if anything does happen you have half a chance of identifying the culprit/s.
DIDO.1 22,838
A few months back some pikeys knocked at the door when the Mrs was on her own....Trying to sell driveways...They kept asking her to go get her husband and when she tried to shut the door one his foot in the doorway....She shouted for me and they ran off....I don't think it would if happened if they could see a camera over the door. Iv got two cameras, ones going over the door and one on the work shop....Just worried it may attract attention to the workshop
The one 8,479
Thought if you had cctv you had to put a sign up saying so ? Perhaps the sign on its own ? Would be enough

C556 351
Cameras are a great deterrent, especially a dome camera as they won't know which direction it's pointing. Pair it up with a PIR activated floodlight at night and that'll give you visual warning if anyone's on the prowl.
delswal 3,819
Put as many cctv cameras up as you like, it does not matter how good they are, a ski mask and balaclava beats them every time. A motion detector camera that will alert your phone or set off a screamer should anybody be around might help, but they also have their drawbacks.
