Plucky1 1,119
There seems to be a lot of anger on the terrier section these days, the thread was about docking but it seems only patterdale owners can make any comment,LOL's, the section is being fecked by the same old bully boys ganging up,if you want a closed forum why not start one up, this section has been poor for a while because every post gets trolled unless you are in the little "clique", its a shame as there are many that I'm sure would contribute given a fair chance, many of the old decent lads have been driven off by "no-marks" with little or no knowledge of terrierwork, I spoke to a few of the better lads at the "Midland" this year, good posters of decent days digging but were sick of the utter sh*te they were getting, I may not dig much these days but have done my share in the past with many types of terrier, there are many types of terrierwork and all of it should be embraced if any of it is to survive, together we are strong, divided by criticsism then we will fall and there will be none of it for my sons or yours, broaden your outlook for a better future, its a shame that these words will be wasted on the very people on here who will be the detriment and downfall of all terrierwork, Mods should be more pro-active banning idiots that spend every post pulling people down whilst never posting anything of themselves or days out, WM 6 Quote Link to post

Plucky1 1,119
Mole265, I assure you there is no agenda to any of my posts, I used to post of all sorts of days out on this forum, I was then told by lads that have never seen my dogs working that Plummers are this and Plummers are that even after seeing pics of them actually doing it !!! I took some lads out and let them make their own minds up about them and many took a pup when I bred the terrier they seen working, beyond that I don't actually see there is more I could of done. I have always vehemently defended myself from criticism and they are the same crowd that jump on the bandwagon every time I post, it has become boringly predictable and expected, they are all lads I have shot down in the past with hard facts and pics. You talk of an agenda, my only agenda has been to let other lads see they are a decent all-round dog that can do anything if time is put into them, they are not a balls out digging dog although I have seen many that have been used that way, if you took off the blinkers you may realise different dogs for different jobs, the Plummer terrier has suffered from 20 yrs of "Brian Plummer" syndrome, he encouraged the clubs (who got behind him) to sell to families of middle class ownership, most non-working huge dogs, the breeders were heavily biased by women and men that have never worked a terrier to ground, however a small element like myself were gifted some foundation stock in the late 70's and continued to work them to ground, Bill Mossman produced a line that were well known for groundwork but became to heavily inbred and were dog aggressive by the lad that took them over Derek Palmer (REMLAP),in the 80's I kept many other types of terrier(Nuttall,Hardie, etc) and the Plummer was still known as a Russell, they only weighed 8-10 lb and were a handy tool to have if you wanted a terrier that could fly around an earth forcing a bolt, the type I keep now is very similar and can be dug to when something decides its staying, most lads hate Plummers because of either him or the knob heads you see trailing them around at shows,I am no different to many of you lads when I see what should of been a decent terrier with no signs of work at a show or gamefair, I have never showed a terrier or sold one to anybody on this site so I am not trying to self promote my line, the difference between me and most terrier men on here is that I have spent many years digging/bolting with all types, I chose to keep only Plummers and improve on what I had around when the the writing was on the wall for taking dogs out that were heavily marked up and the rest is history, these are my terriers of choice, they suit me and they do not get a second look when out and being good on the eye they are popular, I try to put every surplus pup in a working home and I see no wrong in it, I will put a thread up later tonight when the idiots are all "glued up" or high on weed to save anymore on this thread then you can sling the mud directly at me, LOL's,WM 4 Quote Link to post
Dead Eyes 681
As you all know I breed "REDLINE" Plummer terriers, probably 2 or 3 litters a year for the past 5 yrs or so, my vet docks and dew claws for a tenner a pup and I have to say its the best money I spend, I have had the RSPCA at my door from pups I sold to lads in Swansea,Liverpool and Scotland, its easy for me as I just give them his name and address, phone number, etc and thats the end of it, like the rest of you boys I docked my own since the late 70's without any problems to the pups but its just not worth taking a chance for the small amount it costs getting it done properly, the only issue I have had with my vet is that left to him he would do a very short dock whereas I like a longer dock, I mark where I want them cutting and thats it,hassle free, WM DSC_0006 2.JPG DSC_0007 2.JPG So you just breed for £££ then ?3 litters a year for last 5 years, Ching Ching. He ain't trying to better the Plummer terrier. He only wants to line his pockets. That's the sad reality of puppy farms. 15 litters in 36 months, that's an average(ish) litter every 8 or 9 weeks, he's a canine factory. That's some god damn awful maths ? 2 Quote Link to post
