shaaark 10,780
Just rang about 'topsy'. Apparently I'm not suitable, after the 'vetting' that I was grilled with. Shame that, I've always wanted a smooth haired pracically all white deerhound! Never mind 2 Quote Link to post
Neal 1,867
I met a supposed pure deerhound once at a show in Kent. It was the right height and coat but it was a blue merle...the owner swore it was an authentic 100% pure deerhound because a bloke called Plummer had told him it was! Need I say more? 3 Quote Link to post
ginger beard 4,652
looks more pure saluki than pure deerhound to me. 1 Quote Link to post

There's a head scratcher for you neal lol Good point...I guess I'd say that the owner believed what he was telling me was true...but I didn't believe it. There was also the fact that several years before this he'd written an article in which he mentioned his aim to breed a strain of merle beardies and went on to say how little border blood they'd need to have before they could be regarded as "pure" beardie...lo and behold a few years later he said he'd discovered some pure beardies which mysteriously had a merle gene...but denied adding it via border collie. 1 Quote Link to post
