The Lord's are on thin ice regarding public feeling I think they know if they try to upset things there will be public out cry to abolish the lords all together.

Any MPs that vote against should be fired on the spot

even though I want out and voted out I can`t agree with you there, if the people who voted them in voted out then THAT is how they should vote, not the way the party wants them to or their own personal choice but that is what the last vote was for, now they should put all party bullshit behind them and vote for whats good for the country for a change, , time the twats started to realise that the voting public is getting tired of their lies and b/s at election times

not to put a damper on it, its the lords and civil service that run the country not the mps the mps are a front to them. as much as i would like us to leave.

The House of Commons voted this bill through, with a comfortable majority, including most of the Opposition.

The House of Lords would find itself on very thin ice, if it did not endorse the bill. They are all too aware that they are unelected, and to oppose triggering Article 50, against the will of the elected Commons, would give even more support to calls for their reform, or ultimately, their abolition.

The lords can't stop it, they can bounce it back to the commons for further discussion but that's about it. Like TC said, you only have to look back at the hunting act to see that..
