philpot 4,966
As most of you know, I bought into FAC air last year and became quite hooked along with a switch to FX Wildcats for their lightweight handling and have been toying with going for an FAC version for a little while. The only problem was the lack of them around to try out BUT whilst the wildcat is a gun I really enjoy using, it's bigger brother the Impact has had me very curious. It is quite strange how these guns have grabbed my attention as I am not into military style guns at all but there is something with the Impact that I like even though it is an ugly bugger. Well the opportunity presented itself a few weeks ago to try a 12ft/lb one out for a couple of hours on the range, god it was accurate and felt good but I was not wanting another legal limit gun, then two weeks ago, a s/h Impact FAC came up for sale in my local RFD and I put a hold on it. The owner is a friend and agreed it was either going to me or he was having it himself so a perfect chance to do some range time under no pressure. I had it out in the range four or five times and as my friend was on holiday, the gun was going nowhere, that is until today. I am now applying for a variation to my FAC ticket for this .25 gun for which in due course a .22 barrel kit will follow. It remains at the shop until my ticket is through but I am going to put another scope on it as the Bushnell is not my type of scope and continue playing with it there for now. Sorry about the photo's, taken on my phone in a darkish range. The barrel shroud is not extended in these photo's. I have popped on a Rapid bottle clamp in order to use my bi-pod and the only pellets tried are JSB Kings so I am going to be buying a few others to try. Right now sit back, make myself comfortable and wait for the abuse............................................ Phil Edited February 7, 2017 by philpot 1 Quote Link to post
Rez 4,957
Right. Potty pots pots has bought an impact on ticket. Mint. Now personally it's the only rifle to have on ticket as long as it's the ft/lbs model. Although you might be taking it back for repair within weeks. Anyways. (Might as well bought a 17hmr) Not read the whole text you've written pots, but will do, story is I'm just awaiting the usual late week day night naked pictures from Si that he keeps sending me. I don't know why he does it, but most week nights, he'll send me a picture of himself titled 'are you hungry sweet cheeks?" I say no Si, I'm not mate. 2 Quote Link to post

philpot 4,966
Looks nice, i take it, that has a telescopic shroud, how quiet is it? what did you put down as regards mod, if anything Yes it is a telescopic shroud and it certainly works but bear in mind that I am awaiting my variation ticket so only shot it in the range which is obviously louder than when used outside although you can fit a mod if required. I have asked for the gun and mod on the variation request so it covers all situations if required. Phil Quote Link to post
Metalman2 45
With some forces, a "bonded" mod does not need a separate slot, but best to cover all as you say Quote Link to post

Rez 4,957
What are you gonna use it for Phil? Maybe a bit of bench rest... Its so clean and new, do you dare take it out The amount of tech thats, in a way, exposed, would do my head with small grit and bits that always get on the rifle when its out in the field. Even if Im just sat under a tree, I find that the usual sh*t ends up on the action. Imagine that on that. I personally love the look, but those impacts even more special than my HM. I suppose, you could always shoot from a wagon with that amount of juice on tap. Quote Link to post
