DogMan85 722
So now God is a computer nerd.....?? Seriously though I don't know why we delve into these things and religion so deeply. Neither stop suffering across the world or really benefit us in any way. We should move forward and not look back. WILF 48,281
Of course there is no Matrix type thing going on but we are definitely being fed an illusion........everything in life is about perception.........you can sell sand to the Arabs if you can make them perceive it as something they want and must have

To believe in that is just as far fetched as any theory tbh The big bang is a theory, nothing else. This computer generated simulation would be impossible to prove or disprove, so they are on a winner straight away. The more preposterous a theory the more it attracts nutters. Theory, yes. There is a good chunk of supporting evidence though. If there is/was a god that created the universe the scientific laws are the method it chose for the continuation of life.
Tiercel 6,986
Chris the problem we have as a species is everything on this earth is finite, even the earth is finite. We cannot comprehend infinity, there has to be a beginning and there has to be an end for us to make sense of it. What if there is no beginning and no end we just cannot seem to cope with that and we seem to seek to make sense of it by coming up with theories of a beginning? I can't like that one TC, because of your new badge! You're absolutely correct about finite. Maybe there isn't a beginning and an end, to the universe itself, but if there isn't there is a helluva lot of supporting evidence to the theory. Saying that though I'm absolutely alright with infinity. I'm well past the half way mark and whatever happens the big sleep gets us all eventually! Computer Program/God/Allah/Buddha... pure hypothesis. Makes entertaining viewing though! Edited February 6, 2017 by ChrisJones
kanny 21,100
If absolutely nothing ever existed then there would still be absolutely nothing so there must have always been something
DogMan85 722
The evidence definitely points to a beginning but maybe that is only as far as we can comprehend. I'm guessing we will be long gone as a species before we will ever come close to finding the answer. Edited February 6, 2017 by DogMan85
Tiercel 6,986
The biggest constraint the human mind has is time. Everything is measured by our orbit around the sun and the time it takes the light from our sun to get to us. But out of our solar system those measurements are meaningless, because they will have their own measurements that are not relative to us. TC

Tiercel 6,986
In our solar system we are governed buy the laws of physics as we know them. It would be fair to assume that all other solar systems are governed by the same laws. But are they? We assume they are but do not really know, we can use the hubble to see far off Galaxies but the information is still processed by the laws as we know them. It is quite possible that each and every galaxy has it's own laws that are different to ours? After all, all the laws are is our interpretation from the information we have.
