rusty 0
my dog as a pup was really bad, had a chat with the vet she said best to try and get him used to the car by just sitting in it drive down the street, drive round the block etc, if no joy then to give childs travel pills, but if i started to do that then i would have to use them all the time. now i cant get him out of the car,

redmoor 0
Stugeron is the best..half a tablet half an hour before the journey...also sit them on rubber or newspaper..getsrid of the static in the car..this also helps.
ghostlyease 17
Id start by putting the dog in the car doors staying open, move on to closing doors, moving on to driving around the block progressing on to longer journeys, if dog is sick then no sympathy or scolding, ignore and clean, something to do with the dogs balance association or attention seeking, build up confidence slowly. A covered crate (if they fit in one of course) may also help the problem as well as localising any sickness if they are sick. Edited to add that pups often grow out of this problem but not always, once you get on to the building up driving bit try to go to a very local park or open ground to throw a ball around, drive there (you would prob walk) might be a 60 second drive but then the dog is jumping out the other end for fun, hopefully association with the car will soon be great rather than bad.... Good luck! Edited December 14, 2007 by ghostlyease
