War Against Mange!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, Please forgive me as this is my first post...Virgin no more :victory: I was after some up to date advice on what people have in their armory when tackling the dreaded Mange! First i noticed a bald spot on the hind leg of one of my terriers and ive not come across it before. There are scabs under the fur surrounding the area and it seems to be spreading. I have another terrier in the same kennel which has developed a small patch of fur loss and again seems irritated. I'm thinking Sarcoptic Mange may be the culprit, though not professionally diagnosed, as we have had a recent 'encounter'. I have done a lot of looking around trying to gain as much knowledge as possible in the shortest time possible. I can see some older posts on here from 2007 - 2010 but nothing more recent so my question is as above... what is the best tried and tested lotions and potions people are using to irradicate these little fuckers?

Weaponry so far:

Itch Gone Shampoo (Contains Neem and cocnut oil)

MiVet Spot On which says combats Sarcoptic Mange

Neem Oil

Camrosa Ointment

Ivermectin (Not arrived and last resort)

Kill Itch - Benzyl Benzoate (applied for first time today)

Has anybody had experience with the above and can anyone share there experience with what works and what doesnt and also any warning with using the above or any other product. Thanks in advance :D

:bye:

Thanks lads, i appreciate your feedback. I've changed there bedding today. They live outside in kennels so give that a good going over today with nice clean bedding. I managed to get some stuff from an equestrian store near me today as wanted to get something on them until i found a good enough solution. So far ive used Neem and Coconut oil shampoo followed by Benzyl Benzoate as i seen someone mention it on here. Ordered Invermectin so just waiting on that. Will have a look at the other products you both mentioned. Thanks lads!
