northern lad 2,292
Nice one Ken,Tillys misfortune has been the making of her, shes coming on in leaps and bounds now,not that long ago I could feel your despondency when you mentioned Cloud lol atb dave We have definitely turned a corner me and little cloud ... we've got a real good bond and she is starting to settle into her work nicely ... don't get me wrong she still has plenty of annoying quirks to wind me up with on a daily basis but bit by bit we are sorting them lol ........... Annoying quirks....don't get me started....my 7 mnth bed/whip /grey is breaking me lol Had dogs pretty much all my life bulldogs, terriers, staffs etc, this ones in a league of his own,by far the most stubborn, difficult to train dog Ive ever owned.....His attention span is seconds, his memory is shorter ,what he learns today hes forgot tomorrow.... Never been so frustrated with an animal lol... Lol cloud isn't that bad ... I feel better about her now after reading that lol ....... b*****d...now .I feel worse lol 1 Quote Link to post

Never been so frustrated with an animal lol... it deff the genes = breeding , like your self ive been around all breed of dogs all my life, had lurchers 30 years .any dog with alot of running dog in it veins , are always going to hard to train, ive had colliexs, gsdx, piss easy to train because of the herding dog, bullxs, easy to train again, as most pits like to please you, my pit bitch was very easy to train now my other lurchers which were say 85% running dog were prats to train were deaf 95% of the time lol , my worst lurcher to train was a beddy x whippetx grey 2nd gen, this fecker nearly put me off lurchers for life .Well done Ken the pup doing great great way to finish a night Its been an eye opener Ray lol,out mooching hes as good as gold recalls bang on etc (after a lot of work) his retreivings improved gradually, but as I say he forgets what he learns today and tommorows groundhog day ,again lol Any more than 2retreives with a dummy and he goes off one lol Its more general behaviour in the house, went in the kitchen the other day,he was stood all four feet on the worktop eating a bag of peanuts lolol if his eyes are open hes moving that pretty much sums him up....pulls like a b*****d on his lead when it suits, thats how he got the name Roo,if he sees something "interesting" whilst on his lead he pulls that hard he ends up bouncing down the road on his back legs....he has packed cars/buses in stitches pointing and laughing.....if I saw someone else walking a dog like this Id be the first to call them lol I now wear a balaclava to walk him in public....despite his faults hes a lovely dog to have around and for all hes a rough b*****d with just about everything hes like a lamb with my disabled wife, shes never bonded with a dog as much as she has with him....I told her he would only be a bit bigger than my old border lol hes getting on 22" and looks to have a bit more in him lol Anyway sorry for hijacking Kens perfect dog thread aaaarrggghhh!!! 2 Quote Link to post
