slip-em quick 74
I've just acquired a full miniature working beagle.Absolute cracking little dog, great temperament and 100% worker.Only problem is am relatively new to hound work, many a years experience with terriers in all aspects so no rookie by any standard, but what are the pros and cons of working a full beagle, and any advice would go a long way cheers Quote Link to post
Samy Ish Ismael 0
Beagles require very little training when it comes to hunting. Most of the training is learning how to work with you. This would involve recall and checking areas you point out for him. Quote Link to post
stop.end 4,079
Why would you have to point to the places you want the beagle to check? Thats what his nose is for..you let the dog work it out and he will soon show you if he has a nose or not...hate seeing an owner gee or psst any dog on... watch the dog he will soon show YOU were the quarry is not you showing the dog... after a while of working with him you will soon know if somethings about by his body actions even before he speaks... best of luck with him. 3 Quote Link to post
