Introducing A Mature Dog To The Ferrets

Recommended Posts

A dog can walk past a hutch for months and seem fine but there's a big difference when out in the field and excitement takes over.

I'd keep it on a lead for the first few outings and see it's reaction there just in case, and experiment with your own ferrets, there's no easier way to lose friends than have a ferret killing dog

But its a start and lets you weigh things up and move on from there and helps familiarity. Just helpful if your setup is geared that way

Can be done . Did it my self , only probs me dogs a feckin liability around footpaths with strange dogs rushing about : / fine if I introduce him to dogs he be working with doesn't bat an eye all day , can't wait for it to pop its clogs lol , can start again then , but for me I have no need for any bull in a lurcher certain not heavy on the bull , good luck mate , a lot easier for the first trips if someone with you , then you can concentrate on putting it all into braking the dog , let it get used to the ferrets around its feet etc , and lots of correction , and praise , like I said let it pin rabbits in the net whilst on the lead , it will soon realise ferrets are part of the team , and ferrets go in rabbits come out lol .
