MOLE265 792
Been watching a couple of videos on youtube of old Jack Hargreaves commenting on purse net making used to love watching his OUT OF TOWN programmes, these program's should be brought back showcasing countryside pursuits instead of all this anti propaganda pish. 6 Quote Link to post

chilli 381
One thing is for certain is that the biased BBC wouldn't put them on or anything like it . 2 Quote Link to post

neil cooney 10,416
When I was in school I'd have the ferrets in their box, nets in the bag and spade beside the front door for eleven o clock every Saturday morning. Then it was "Old Country" or "Out of Town." 'till half eleven and straight out ferreting. No videos to record your shows back then. Jack was a legend and although he told and showed the old ways he had no false romantic ideals about the countryside. He knew it was a working environment and told it like it was. The first time I seen lurchers on telly was when it showed the lads bolting rabbits to their coney dogs. 9 Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Got his DVD set made up of his programs, strange to watch them and think, that was what life was like back then, and hasn't it changed. Quote Link to post

Haiddheliwr 1,911
I remember the tv series the first time around as well Neil lol. I remember the lad with so much enthusiasm for everything countryside most of it illegal now! I had a really understanding Mam who just let me get on with it, in a way old Jack was like a father figure to me as mine died when I was quite young. Everything I did then is locked away in my head so no one can touch it anymore! Still doing a bit and still enjoying what we have left but feel so sad of what we have lost! 6 Quote Link to post
