trappa 518
First get a mole trap. Usually you will be able to purchase 2 different types ( there are more) the traditional scissor type and the duffus half barrel type. Easiest to set is the scissor type for a beginner- the shop should show you how. If you can, stick the trap in the garden for a few days to get the smell off, you can leave them for months but you wont want to do this. If you can lend a used trap off a mate then even better. Use a stick to find a run between the hills, when you have use a trowel to expose the run. Smooth the run down where the soil has dropped and plant the trap in the run, with the trap aiming the correct way ( you will be able to work it out). Cut the sod of earth in half that you dug up exposing the run and place either side of the trap to cover the run from light , but be careful to not hinder the mechanism so the trap can trigger ok.cover over any gaps with loose soil until the run is completely covered . That is about it. Quote Link to post
