karlsberg 319
Looks like Kalsberg is the jumped up faggots spoke person Baw reading through your posts you make sense and seem to be an educated man but like Riohog and Kalsberg said the fast things are no good for the flat land full stop,They will and do prove there worth on the borders and field work obviously they will take hare on bigger land but it will only end in tears if you keep trying to prove us wannabe's who talk pish wrong. It's ok I don't want to be your freind dont know wether that a compliment marco lol faggot whose been telling u tales Quote Link to post

baw 4,360
if the coursing lads on here are full of shit and jumped up faggots why dont you go back to poachers rest and post your childish comments there instead I'm sure there are a few on here that are decent folk, like the ones I mentioned above who ran in the Forley Cup. The ones I think are jumped up faggots, are the wannabees and hangers on who do nothing more than buy a saluki and a dvd and spout pish...... bit like you toby..... u are welcome to come out baw with us be interesting to see what your fast things do with our big bunnies Thanks for the invite Karlsberg, pm sent mate Just to clear the air, it was tongue and cheek what I said about the coursing guys on here. Of course I rate what you do. You do what you like doing and are quite good at it. It wont stop me from slagging your dogs style cos I think thats my perogative cos I dont like it. But dont think I dont envy your set up cos I do look pal just stop deniyingyourself you know deep down you would really love to own a saluki!i hear there is a few for sale just put your hand in your pocket tight f...cker ..lol thats where me and baw agree salukis arent up for the job .we been taking a lad out with us from scotland and he admires what we do and we havent run fen with him yet but real strong hares . and he has a good little young bitch but he used to them fast things for where he lives and it taken him a lot of time getting used to his bitch not being as sharp as what he normally has but i like the bitch a lot.but whats more important a dog getting to a hare fast and then getting blew off or a dog getting there more slowly and not getting blew off . i know what id prefer but its not what everyone prefers. I think i've found a friend. I agree exactly what you are saying carlsberg and that is the conundrum. Which is it, speed or stamina. They seem to be 2 opposites i.e you either get one or the other. A dog that can run as fast as a 3/4 collie cross but stays like a first cross saluki would be worth a fortune. What we should all do is admire the hare. We all debate on here our chosen crosses, add this, import that.... all the while the hare can't breed to improve, he is what he is.... the king. Baw, I have seen a good number of dogs that have the speed of a 3/4 bred collie/grey and can stay all day.Not just one run, but three, four, five runs Its easy to sit on the computer spouting about things you do not believe, just because YOU haven't seen them. If some spent a little less time on the sites bitching and more time out with the dogs I'm sure there would be alot more quality posts, and probably dogs around. All this 'fen dogs' this and 'fen dogs' that is sheer rubbish, i have seen with my very own eyes a good number of coursing dogs that can run and catch on a variety of terrains. Including Scotland. Where, incidentally, i saw a bitch kill three brown hares off ones slip. What some have to remember is that this island of ours is a very small place, and our lives are only very short. So why waste time dilly-dallying around, go experience things for yourself, you may mature a bit and your eyes may be opened to the differences between hares in different regions....Then come back and speak with experience for you will have undoubtedly gained respect for the types (both man and dog) that walk the green eastern prairies.... thats funny............ Do you think I haven't seen collie crosses run 3/4/5 runs? Can you point out where I have EVER said a collie cross is only good for 1 run? The statement is just laughable and as usual totally inaccurate. As for me spending less time on sites and more time out with dogs, thats a bit rich coming from someone who is a moderator on a site!!! How much time do you need to spend on the internet to moderate? I have experienced plenty mr Darcy, just because I don't write a theseus/book on every aspect of life doesn't mean I haven't got experiences. You seem to have a dislike to me which is fair enough, you don't exactly get my juices flowing either. But I thought these threads were for putting up opinions and for others to add or prove wrong. I think we were doing that nicely till you put your oar in. I suppose this is where you ban me as per.................. Quote Link to post

It's ok I don't want to be your freind Ok, I was wrong to call you guys faggots, was aimed more at toby who you'll never convince me isn't a faggot. Look, I know the saluki is the best dog for you guys, you wouldn't have them otherwise. What gets up my goat(he tells me this often) is the way you lot think the fens is the be all end all. I'm not saying it isn't a perfect place to run a hare for money cos it is. If we could make a man made betting arena for hare coursing, you'd be hard pushed to build somewhere better. But I'm old fashioned mate. I like hunting hares and seeing a good course where the hare has as good a chance of escaping as getting caught. The dogs you breed now with the stamina they have is far superior to any hare, coupled with the lack of escape routes makes it a bit one sided for me. I'm not knocking what you do and I think your doing the right thing but please don't tell me it's any better fun than coursing hares anywhere else cos it isn't. There's a lot of bollock's talked about the"fen" on this and other forum's, mostly by people who have never been coursing on the fen's, first off you won't catch many fen hare's with absolute plodder's, and where the hare's are used to seeing a dog or two, you'll hardley catch any !!! most hare's on the fen will "suff" (go to ground) as soon as they feel any sort of "pressure" exerted by the dog and a lot will just head straight for the nearest pipe anyway!!!! of which there are thousand's draining into the "dyke"s, the hare's will also go through farm yard's, outbuilding's and straight up the middle of the road !!! the idea of having no where to escape to is well wide of the mark !!!! as any regular fen runner will tell you !! i would'nt try to tell anybody that it's "better" fun than coursing anywhere else, but if you want to watch a course from start to finish, then the fen is as good as anywhere, after all what fun is there in watching a 20 or 30 second course through the hedge over the hill whatever see no more !!!!! not for me i like to enjoy a real run! i like too see what my dog's made of, that's what it's all about !! let me say this if all you needed to kill fen hare's was stamina we'd all be running "pure" saluki's !!!! if all you needed was speed we'd all have greyhound's !!!!! it's a sweeping statement to assume that it's all about stamina it's not !! it's all about speed, stamina, "craft" and finally determination !!!! a consistent catcher of winter hare's on the fen must have all of these quality's !!! and lack "none" of them. good post mate you no your stuff Quote Link to post

Tell me please, you claim to be a fountain of knowledge in the coursing world, what top match dogs have you seen run first hand if you don't mind me asking? Quote Link to post
