Ferreting last weekend

Well its been a while since I posted on here, so here goes

 

We were back out on Sunday with the dogs, just planning to take it easy and have have a mooch about with a couple of ferrets to see what was about. The forecast wasnt good and we weren't optimistic we'd even get out but it was fine and frosty when we set off

 

Indie's favourite place, in the reeds, I noticed his tail stood upright and flicking from side to side, a sure sign he was onto something

 

 

 

 

and out it came

 

 

but the view was blocked

back across the other side and into the woods

 

 

 

Bit dark in there today though, so we moved on, along a dry stone wall which was a favourite rabbiting place last season, only problem was a load of trees had been felled so it wasnt as open as before, not that it bothers the dogs much, they are used to trees all over the place

 

 

 

 

 

now I didnt actually see this through the camera, it was only when I downloaded the pics that I saw it, Indie was well focused though he had his eye on one and he stuck with it, Nuala went after the other one

I forgot to charge my camera battery or even bring a spare, so as the day was nearing an end took a quick end of day piccie

 

 

but we hadnt quite finished and got a couple more after that

 

 

 

 

on the way back - why get your feet wet when you can fly

Had a grand day today, topped off by a few more pheasies and partridge from the keeper, it will make a lovely game pie for christmas I think
