These days its choice but back then they needed every man..... id be quite happy for every man to have to do couple years in army after leaving school. America going to war with a shitty little country .. Vietnam ... they posed no threat to American shores they just decided they were going to police them and failed badly so it really was down to your own conscious whether you thought it was right to fight or not ... fast forward to the not so distant past and we did the same in Iraq and Afghanistan... however the difference being al Qaeda... Isis ... etc do pose a threat to our shores as did pira the Ira etc so if your that passionate about being patriotic and defending your country like Ali should have you could have joined up and done your bit couldn't you ??? ........
