TOMO 25,991
As boxers go ill let those with more experience than me decide how good he was, but as a man he was low as they get, should have been shot for refusin to fight for the country that gave him everything. Would the guys that think he a hero refuse to go to war tomorrow if called upon?? That act alone tells me all id need to know about a man you didnt read my post then,,,

desertbred 5,490
Why would any man or women fight in a war or for something they did not believe in ? Wouldnt that make you a radical or a fanatic if you did it because others thought you should ?
marshman 7,757
Because that was the law of the land he lived in, nobody said he had to, but if not he should have been treated like rest an jailed. He chose to stay within the safety of america, he didnt leave an go somewhere that suited his political or religious beliefs. Men less rich or known got sent to jail, he payed his way out of it. He wanted equality, but refused to go stand shoulder to shoulder with the average joe he wanted to be equal to?? Bollocks to him when a country wants you to stand shoulder to shoulder with the average Joe , but then won't let you sit shoulder to shoulder with that same man on a bus . Nah I don't blame him
desertbred 5,490
As some one said previously Blacks were treated as commodities in USA at that timeand Ali was in a position to stand up for his Race his beliefs and Equality so you think he should be imprisoned for it? Plenty of Blacks went to fight in the Draft many got killed as did White lads but when the Vets returned home they were all treated as second class citizens , still happens even in alledged Democracies does that make it right ? BGD 6,431
Ali should have just got multiple education deferments then a medical deferment for flat feet like a certain draft dodger who's just become president
