Troutslayer 141
I seem too be having some real trouble this year with finding foxes. Almost all of the the earths are completely untouched this year even tho theres plenty of them about and even putting them up daytime. Is anyone else experiencing this trouble on there land and what could be the reason apart from yet another s**tty mild winter?? Quote Link to post
Fellman Mark 607
Could it be the marking dog? Not a dig mate just a question Quote Link to post

Rabbit Hunter 6,613
Maybe look for new places? If you're seeing them about but they're not in the usual spots they must be going to ground somewhere. We've been finding them in places that are usually poor. Quote Link to post

morton 5,368
People laugh at me when i extol the virtues of a bushing terrier, the vast majority of fox i encounter is pushed from cover,a small fraction of the fox my mutts encounter are found below.Folk that work their mutts from a leash walk merrily by an occupied patch of cover whilst they walk from earth to earth. 4 Quote Link to post

Try it you may furnish another arrow for your bow,the people who frown on it because its not accepted by the more modern terrier soul raise a wry smile with me.Have faith in the mutts and know when 1 is not enough. Troutslayer 141
One of my dogs is a russell who is 100% below ground and a brilliant bushing dog. Infact she put two up out of cover early this morn even in all that rain. Thats my point nothing round here seems to be using any earths and after searching high and low no new earths are being dug and all the old ones untouched 1 Quote Link to post
