So if it's boxing Mayweather will win, and if it's UFC McGregor will win.

Pretty much in other words if it's a actual fight with world class fighters that need to be well rounded with a big heart mcgregor will win if it's a dance and posing contest in giant gloves that will be stopped of someone gets hit to hard or gets a bruise or god forbid a cut and the only point is to pose and look flashy and get points mayweather could win

Casual fight fan are ya then ? Or just looking for a bite.

I've seen them fights and fighters I used to think like that I'm by no means a professional but I've had experience in both sports and boxing training and the actual fighting are nowhere near as tough as mma. Boxing was a tough sport but it's changed so much boxers are a shadow of what they were

You've missed the point. The point was the above mentioned boxing matches had you seen them are great fights absolute wars etc no posing no referees jumping in etc. I was simply stating boxing still has great wars Nd imo has more relevant fights than what ufc have been making recently.

A boxing match can't be compared to a ufc fight the discipline is much harder for mma fighters and the fights are much harder of course there will still be hard boxing matches and there will still be bad mma fights but on the whole mma is a much harder discipline

Yep and that's exactly it the talk of this fighting happening is in a boxing ring. As has been said mcgregor couldnt hang with any high level junior middleweight. That's about it.

Neither sport is 'harder' if anything MMA fighters can often go further taking less punishment if they have the right style.

 

I'd like to see some sort of hybrid rules,but it won't happen.

High kicks and punching in the clinch would level the playing field imo.

Whilst in ufc the best hands mcgregor has fought were nate diaz and he literally got slapped silly and dragged into really deep waters lost one and took one by a split decision. So ask yourself this would nate diaz fare well against a mayweather or canelo ? It's a completely different style and can't be considered similar

Bang on mate and imo the only reason CM took things to the ground with a legit Gracie black belt then gave his back up because he knew he was done and would be knocked out!

For one thing mayweather could not take punishment like Nate does. Conor admitted he underestimated the chin of Nate....he burnt out by not being able to finish him early like he thought he would( big headed). Then lost the fight.

 

He didn't jump to the ground and give up he....he was tiring and had to try something else. If he managed to get on top of Nate he could have got a breather, got to the next round then who knows what would have happened.

Of course that didn't happen and Nates great ground game made it easy to finish Conor who tapped far to easy..(tiredness)

 

Still...Mayweather would punch his lights out in the end.

 

He was about to get ko'd made a half hearted attempt at a take down to save tht from happening. I'm not digging mcgregor up he's an amazing martial artist and deserves to be at the top of his game and in the position he's in very talented. What I'm saying is nate diaz gave him real bother with his boxing and diaz is nowhere near the league of a top ten light middleweight. As you say he wouldn't stand a chance against mayweather.

Tried to go to ground with a BB BJJ for a breather?? Come on lab, watch it back he was at the end and imo and only imo tried to avoid being knocked out! He can blame losing that fight on anything he wants but at the end of the day nate finished him! Think the 3rd fight is needed with them two to settle it but I think CM would win so long as he can defend take downs

If a boxer wants a breather he grabs his opponent. Can't do that in mma as you know or you'll be put on yer arse.

Only thing you can do is get it on the ground. Although Nate is far superior on the ground it would not be impossible for Conor to have got on top and got a breather. That didn't happen abd he was choked out.

I'm pretty sure mcgregor is capable of training and altering his style for each fight and each fighter something he has done but mayweather does the same thing every fight dance defend and frustrate and frustrating is something mcgregor is better at than mayweather mayweather won't get his six inches because mcgregor would control the fight and when that's happend before mayweather holds something mcgregor is better at also mcgregor is younger mayweather isn't as young as he was and mcgregor is stronger. I don't know what de lehoya pacauiao or Mosley know and I don't know if mcgregor knows something they don't but they all went in to the ring respecting mayweather and mcgregor won't do that

I was fighting in the ,s mate ive got a few old vhs tapes tucked away somewhere but nothing worth bragging about a few lads made it big out of our gym Bruno/Mason/Kaylor/Hussein/Jimmy Mac but most of us who started out with a bit of hype behind us ended up plodding out a career as sparring partners or journeymen as they call them today.....thats life.

 

 

if mcgregor has a boxing licence is it a separate sport and not under contract if he walks away from UFC which is highly likely if he gets a 50 million payday and he hasn't much left to prove in UFC and probably knows it's all down hill from here. Champions tend to get knocked off their throne in quick succession in UFC with the different styles compared to boxing and it's a short shelf life and mcgregor knows that . Get the big payday and get out. With mcgregors talkability and clever media and franchising skills he will still make plenty of money without the hardship and discipline of training and diet and live the easy life. From speaking to lads that know him they say he likes to party in more ways than one.

 

If Mcgregor had any real confidence in beating Mayweather he would take a couple of tune up fights against top 10 opposition to prove he is worthy of challenging an all time great boxer.......theres one very good reason why he wont do that.
