Has anyone had any success with using plastic window planters as tunnels for fenns. Sure I'd seen it mentioned on here or elsewhere.

 

Hole in either end and you've a weatherproof well dimensioned tunnel. Seems a good idea on paper but would welcome first hand accounts

Thanks for the response Phil. Curiously enough the ground I've got in mind hasn't got a significant squirrel population. Most likely customers will be mink and perhaps stoat/weasel. Have you had any luck with these species, even as incidentals when focussing on squirrel?

The concept is just the same....successful trapping is all about sensible positioning...

Maybe ,..cut a slice into the floor, allowing the pan to be level with the ground,..a jump stick, placed just in front of the killing bars will generally get the target species, leaping onto the pan. :thumbs: .

With the plastic window boxes you can cut a bit of wood to fit the base, the top when its set and drill a screw down at each end then when the trap goes off it lifts the wood and you can see the screws and know the traps sprung with out bending to look
