The one 8,524
Right so the Forth road bridge was closed last night at 02.10 after a lorry toppled over but it had been closed to high sided vehicles since midnight . Everybodies had to go via the Kincardine bridge causing massive tailbacks and some folk no even getting to there work , The 54 year old lorry drivers been done for dangerous driving for ignoring the signs so Can you sue the driver or his company for lose of earnings ? Would you ?. How would you go about it ?.

Me i would sooner go to currys and ask for a big discount off what i wanted and say its for your stupid lorry driver
walshie 2,804
Thing is they'd use "Act of God" to get out of it. The wind was the cause. The driver being a ming mong was secondary.

Lab 10,979
Its f**k all to do with bad luck. He ignored the signs....he was blown right over the middle of the bridge. Not only could he have killed himself he could have killed others. I couldn't get to work, lost a shift. I wouldn't bother sueing him but if he looses his job I wouldn't shed a tear. Idiot!! ferretess 230
some how I think he's going to regret ignoring the warnings and signs about the bridge being closed to high sided vehicles, Police charged him with dangerous driving , It's will have cost thousands to move the lorry and fix the bridge and I think it will come out of Curries insurance company and doubt the driver will have a job now . Not forgetting the inconvenience, time and cost, to all other drivers.

The driver being a ming mong was secondary. He's been charged with dangerous driving but I'd be surprised if a half decent lawyer doesn't get him let off with a token fine citing mitigating circumstances like 'stress' and difficulty sleeping when on the nightshift etc. etc.
