secretagentmole 1,701
It was not dark when I shot them! I have a superb roost shoot permission. Scared 3 pheasants trying to get a clear shot on them, that one was sat in a tree as I rounded the laurel bushes. Stood out against the sky beautifully and nothing between the muzzle and it's head! 2 Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
Because when you are shooting in a roosting wood it helps to be there when the birds are going to bed.... 3 Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
Because when you are shooting in a roosting wood it helps to be there when the birds are going to bed.... Totally agree mate, 90% of my shooting at this time of year, be it airgun quarry, fox, deer, duck is conducted at or near to dusk, and it is a time I really enjoy being out, that brief window where the daylight creatures meet the night time denizens, apart from the shooting, I find it very peaceful and rather relaxing, there is for me at least, something very earthy and rather ancient about sitting in a wood on your own as its going dark 2 Quote Link to post
