Rabid 1,936
Talking of fx (not the impact) I sent one of my wildcats back today as I just could not get it to group, run it over a chrono and it was running between 11.2 and 12.8 over 10 shots Wow, that is a big disparity. I've got to admit the more I've learnt and read since starting, the more I think your just as well getting a second hand one once you've had a good look at it. It seems to me far to many have to take back brand new guns because they aren't right, if there not right out of box when should they be? Someone has to buy new or there would be no secondhand to go around ! I like the peace of mind from a shop, if it's not 100%, back it goes. 1 Quote Link to post

philpot 5,005
I am not sure about BAR and sweeping statements. I only know personally of three impact owners and they are very happy with them plus one of our members, the chap who now has a YouTube channel with the odd competition chucked in so draw your own conclusions. I did read on AGF that FX have over 1000 impacts on back order so perhaps some QC failure may be happening. Phil 1 Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
Been reading on another forum it's down to the smooth twist barrels and does not just lie with impacts but wildcats as well But it might be people jumping on the bandwagon Quote Link to post
donnyc 1,203
Bad machining and some tolerances way out and O rings coming adrift ..Stupid disc on valve lets air by etc etc Quote Link to post
Rez 4,961
The impact is quite experimental to say the least. To be fair, even though this thread isn't about the impact and the thread title is all wrong FX maybe have started running before they can walk with all the tech there running inside there models. It has now been returned to ASI for further investigation, they didn't actually say it but they as good as asked if I had taken it apart and tried to up the power ! Chrono results were piss poor over 10 shots...... Be interested to know what you have been reading about the smooth twist barrels as I have only heard good things about the wildcats.
