womble 1 nut 491
When out on permission with the dogs one day I noticed a tidy little run that seemed to be taking some traffic ,I'd been speaking with the farmer and he said he'd seen a fox or two about so I thought id have a go with some wires, set a couple of ghost snares which were down for a week without success so I lifted them with the intention to try again at a later date. Had a bit of time off over Christmas so decided to give it another go , set the run again with just a couple of wires , first night nothing but the second night picked up this nice vixen ,happy me , happy farmer ☺ 8 Quote Link to post

cragman 2,788
When I've had a vixen in a snare or wire at this time of year, besides putting some wires down, I always stick the dead vixen on top of a trap. He'll come to see her? Quote Link to post

Once or twice, but also if you go back later with the lamp, if he's not in the trap, he'll be nearby, pacing around the cage calling in a low "voice". He might even turn up at dusk if he needs to be with her? Drag her around the ground a little, get her scent about the place 1 Quote Link to post
