Got a freezer full of rabbits and I'm not feeding them to the dogs anymore. I'm having them!!

recipe to cook old buck rabbit:

 

skin and gut rabbit, place in a pan of boiling water with onions carrots and an old axe head.

 

simmer until the axe head is soft. the rabbit will be done an hour later

The hairy bikers do a rabbit stew, it has smoked bacon, plenty of cider and takes a couple of hours of cooking but well worth it, you'll need to google it as I don't know how to do links but it's easy to find, can't recommend it highly enough.

joint a rabbit or rabbits cover them in flour salt pepper and parpraike.brown them in a large pot with oil.add 2 tins of thick mushroom soup and 2 tins of milk and 1 cup of cream in on top of the rabbits .add 1 egg cup of sherry and put the pot into the oven to cook.u wont eat better.

Go on YouTube type in the Scott rea project he does a lot of game recipes rabbit, venison, pheasant etc he shows how to butcher meat aswell, iv done a few of them and there bang on

Take the loins off, wrap in streaky bacon and stuff with sage an onion stuffing or a cheap pate, then put on tin tray in oven for 30-40 mins on 160c and do veg and gravey ?????????????

Forgot to say I soak loins in milk over night and trust me it could be chicken u would know it was rabbit ?? I think it's just the older rabbits that have a funny taste but the milk over night should sort that

The reason rabbits have that smell is because they are not cleaned properly, you have to take the scent glands out, otherwise it taints the meat and gives off that horrible smell when cooking.

 

Once the scent glands are out it's fine. Take a look at the video 9 . 50 in he shows you where the scent glands are.
