Oul War Medals..worth Anything.

I collect first ww1 medals. It's a touchy subject as many people find buying and selling medals uncomfortable.

 

All my medals are researched. I seek to list them on medal finding websites so family could locate them. I also through the same sites seek to find other medals belonging to the same person so they are all together.

 

I visit Belgium sometimes and plan to visit France, where possible I will try to visit their grave if they died out there.

 

Common ww1 medals are worth about £30 each with certain regiments and casualties worth more. That's a very very basic valuation of course!

Surely taking something that isn't yours to take is basically theft .. folks get all hot under the collar if a dog is stolen so I don't see it as any different to that..

Nobody will want to pay anything for your "best fancy dress in the NCO mess" medal so you won't have to worry you f***ing excuse !

If I'm honest it's not a hobby....My collection is part of my pension. I suppose I do enjoy the Belgium battlefield and brewery weekends though!

If I'm honest it's not a hobby....My collection is part of my pension. I suppose I do enjoy the Belgium battlefield and brewery weekends though!

I was like that had quite a sizeable collection mainly WW2 German and just saw it as an investment

 

Ended up selling most of it to American collectors back when the exchange rate meant I got a great deal

are oul war medals making any money,we were in an oul abondoned farm the day out hunting..just haveing a rummage about as you do.ole cogger who used to live there must have done a bit,old biscuit tin full of medals,ioads of old framed pics battle scenes,old pics of soldiers n that..just left them there was wondering are they any good.

I will buy them off you and whatever else is there if you could post

yep it would be classed as theft by finding was in court once and a man was on for taking a tv from a skip turned out he had three months pmsl

That's true theft by finding
