villaman 9,983
I will be going down the FAC route hopefully this year . A lot of my permissions are 20 acres or smaller ,apart from three which are 1300-1800 acres , so my thinking is FAC air on the smaller ones if i can get the land passed for FAC air . I thinking of Daystate Regal XL running @ 40 ft/lbs , light , shoulders well , looks good and they seem accurate . So which air gun would you chose and why ? Quote Link to post
Jonjon79 13,358
Hmm, good question I don't have an FAC so, I've only tried a couple of higher powered air rifles. A .25 Matador running at around 50 ftlb was an awesome beast but, noisy. I think I'd be tempted to stick with something longer than a Bullpup - with the extra power, I'd like some weight up front to help with accuracy. It's not very original but, I'd look at Rapids. All reviews seem to point to them being accurate and solid. Good luck with your choice 4 Quote Link to post
moxy 617
As above. I would avoid the bullpup type. Unless your going to wear ear defenders Quote Link to post

mark williams 7,558
Is the difference worth it with "air" F.A.C. ? " The power" For example a typical F.A.C. figure of a .22 cal rifle. 39.1 ft/lbs = 16 g pellet, 1050 ft/sec 3o ft/lbs = 16g pellet , 920 ft/sec ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A sub 12 rifle my TX 200 was chrono`d at this 11.52 ft/lbs - 7.87g pellet, 812 ft/sec -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A .22 at 1050 ft/sec v A .177 at 812 ft/sec Either, with correct shot placement, at air rifle ranges,- " it`s dead" " "Only saying like" Quote Link to post

pianoman 3,587
Not that you'll take this up Mitch but, I really cannot fault having an HW80 .22 on ticket. Beautiful handling rifle that will match a PCP for accuracy, no limited fill from a bottle and hits hard and fast on the twitchiest rabbit's head. I love mine to bits mate. Wouldn't trade it for any amount of cash. 3 Quote Link to post
Rez 4,961
Rapid. Or an FX of sorts. If your gonna do it, do properly and get a .25, possibly travelling around the 50fpe mark Perhaps an Impact... 4 Quote Link to post
