Rabbithounds in Somerset

Your right Scotty it was a cracking day! I ended up getting their late as a couple of lads that should of been coming with me cancelled last minute (whilst I'm blowing the horn outside their houses :censored: ). so missed the meet by over an hour and had to track the people and hounds away from the farm, which luckily isn't too hard when their's 25 couple of hounds and probably close to 40 people!!! (leaves a fair mark in the grass!!!) they had caught about 8-10 by the time we got there apparently and got a further 8, so a total of 16-18 rabbits.

Not only was it a cracking day out but I got to see something I'll probably never see again, a barn owl and a lurcher after the same rabbit!!! The hounds flushed it out across the field and one of the lurcher's managed to turn it before it got into the hedge and as it ran under a tree, a barn owl swooped out and tried catching it but had to pull up at the last minute as the lurcher and 50 petit bassets came hammering along after it!!!

A stunning day out again so a big Thank You! to Leveller for informing us and to Nick for bringing his wonderful little hounds down again!

Cheers

Luke

P.s sorry for no pics but the only ones we got were on camera phones and are cr*p quality!!! and the videos are best just used as sound tracks!!!
