Well let me put together a package for you, British made 10 shot magazine fed silenced pcp rifle, 3-9 x 40 scope with one piece mount, high pressure pump to fill it, plus a gun bag, for under £500! Pellpax sell them at £490, John Knibbs sell them at £499!

 

What is it. Well the magazine gives the best clue, it has a red drum, .22, so it is a BSA magazine, curiously BSA looking body to the mechanism too, there is the Gamo trigger, so beloved by Rapid owners, a thumbhole synthetic stock. It is only available in .22 and is called the Chacal on the continent. This is the French for Jackal, which over here means Air Arms has it! Gamo has the Fox name already on a junior gun, so Phox it is!

 

Gamo has the Coyote out, which is basically a Scorpion in drag, This seems to be an Ultra in drag, only available in the .22 calibre and 70 usable shots from a 232 bar fill, Quick fill is hidden under a pull off collar on the air tube. Air gauge at the front.

The stock is surprisingly well balanced, easy to shoulder and gives a stable aim. It is a thumbole and has grip panels on the pistol grip and forestock. The trigger is usable, not as good as BSA's finest or the trigger on the HW100, hell it is not as good as the Hatsan Quattro 2 stage trigger, but it is usable and predictable. Grouping is good, I am using RWS Superfields after finishing off my H&N FTT, the Supers give an average of 11.3 ft lb over the 70 or so shots you get from a fill. The magazine is the new BSA sort and bar a few incidents of it sticking, works well enough.

 

This gun may say Gamo, but Gamo do not make PCP rifles, they leave that to their British arm, BSA.

 

Now how to get this gun for less.

 

I saw it on the shelf of my local gun shop. I did not need a bag, which was fortunate as he had sold that already to somebody else, so a few quid off for that. Mounts, not needed, so money off for those, scope, well I had the SR12, so money off for the 3-9x40 AO scope. Did not want the pump, so more money off for that, add a cash discount and £350 sees me with a brand new PCP rifle, made in Britain, with a 10 shot magazine!
