BGD 6,436
Sounds like you could really use some help Navek, has your Dr offered you any kind of therapy alongside the medication? CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is supposed to be much more effective than medication for anxiety in the long term.

DogFox123 1,379
I knew it was counter productive but the only thing that helped was a drink. That's a bad idea tbh as it can lead to anxiety the day after but it was worth it at the time when it felt like a panic attack was coming.

BGD 6,436
And that sort of attitude is one of the main reasons suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK.
Caravan Monster 323
Sounds like weed withdrawal in this case, that stuff can have a strong effect on the mind. There is a school of thought that waking up in the middle of the night is natural. In the pre- industrial / electric lighting era, people went to bed earlier, slept for a few hours then woke up for an hour or two, getting up to all sorts of things and then went back to sleep until morning. It was called first and second sleep and some think it is healthier than today's 8 hours sleep. Might be handy for a couple of hours lamping at 1am. http://slumberwise.com/science/your-ancestors-didnt-sleep-like-you/

BGD 6,436
Mental illness like any other illness can effect anyone at any time and with the right treatment it can be cured or managed. Personally I'd say someone who has overcome struggles with mental illness is about as far from weak minded as you can get.
Guest Navek
Funnily enough I've had mates who gone through similar and I used say to my other half " f***ing pussy need get a grip and give there head a wobble" now I don't think I'll ever judge anyone with a mental illness again
DogFox123 1,379
Mental illness like any other illness can effect anyone at any time and with the right treatment it can be cured or managed. Personally I'd say someone who has overcome struggles with mental illness is about as far from weak minded as you can get. I agree though that for every genuine sufferer there will be many that are putting it on. A lad who I went to school with is a lazy fat piece of shit who's never worked a day in his life. He's forever on Facebook crying about his depression and looking for sympathy, he's a fcuking joke. Edited December 30, 2016 by DogFox123
BGD 6,436
Definitely plenty of chancers about which just makes it even harder for the folk really suffering. Depression and anxiety have become the new "bad back" for the work shy.
