Accuracy Complete, I Wasn`t Doing My Bit.

Recommended Posts

I`ve lost contact this last 2-3 yrs with the beloved FWB Sport I sold to buy the HW 100`s after using one exclusively for the best part of 40 years !

I couldn`t work out what was wrong with the FWB Sport 127 mk 1`s accuracy levels that I`ve just bought, until now,- it was me ! :icon_redface:

Not wishing to create an argument between springer and pcp but I have found that I was not thinking about the shot being taken with my 100`s and I`m sure I was building bad habits of not being mentally focused on the " building of my shots" with pcp.( no recoil or character)

I was shooting erraticly with my FWB until my mental light came back on, - " Whoe Mark, this is a 1978 springer, break yourself back down to the building of your shot" " BASICS" !

Hold sensitivity is fairly high, controlling my breathing again, using an unrestricted hold (within reason), consistency with a strong mental focus and I began to " feel the rifle`s characterisics" and the groupings are becoming very decent.

If you will allow, I feel as though my PCP`s have been bridging a lot of my old shooting/ accuracy techniques.

I am now convinced that a PCP " irons over so many shooting techniques and instincts" that grow with you over the years of experiences in the field or on the range. Is that a bad thing ? :hmm:

Hell yes ! It must effect anything other than no recoil,- surely ?

I`m fast mastering the old classic again and " boy what character she has" !

Agreed - good post

Pcps are a nice effective hunting tool but, a springer does keep you in shape.

It's good to hear that you're pleased with it at last

....I'm looking forward to your hunting wtite ups with it.

I wanted to be on my game again ( old springer accuracy) before I went hunting.

She will soon be out lads.

The 127 is on FAPs Rez,- lovely powerful, flat trajectory.

The matching 124 mk1 I bought today :whistling: will be tested on JSB Exact Express 4,52 7.87 g tomorrow and also on AA Fields 4.52, 8.4 g as well.

Had a very quick shot or three just before dark tonight and those pellets, slam home, "hard".
