green lurchers 16,831
Again where are you buying pulpitos and pulpo in Blighty I'm guessing they're tinned? Used to be able to buy fresh octopus from the wet fish shop in Nunhead Lane when I lived there, but any wet fish shop should be able to order it for you especially if they use billingsgate. I've had baby picked octopus in a large jar from See Woo (local chinese cash and carry) but it tasted nothing like the pickled octopus salad I had in a Greek taverna in Victoria, Australia, it was absolutely superb but I can't find a recipe for it. i get a few bits out of see woo down lisle st , pak choi and cho sum veg all the other bits in bottles , theres a brand new live seafood shop next door just opened up worth a look might do live octopus ? Lenmcharristar 9,910
i caught an octopus out fishing 1 day between copeland islands yrs ago, i introduced it to seasoned flour n hot wok, absolutely lovely, even the tinned octopus from tesco was nice think they stopped doing it
mushroom 13,262
If you get fresh octopuss you need to twat the flesh on a hard surface a few times first. Basically grab a tentacle and whip it onto a table a few times

I use the one at Charlton, they have recently added a Korean section and I'm hoping they get in some pre-made kimchi, something I have always fancied trying but can't be arsed making it myself as you still have to source korean chilli flakes etc. The Charlton See Woo's has always had tanks with live fish, lobsters, crab, eels, carp etc. It might just be me but I'm sure it is getting a lot more expensive to shop there nowadays. They even do that Durian fruit, fcuking stinks

They even do that Durian fruit, fcuking stinks china town rents have gone through the roof and the prices are stupid , in an average eatery 1 king scallop in a shell steamed with garlic an chillie will set you back between £5 £7.50 stoopid prices when you can get a box of scottish scallops from the market for a £1 each Edited December 29, 2016 by green lurchers
