Kennel Cough

My Patterdale has caught kennel cough. Spoke to my vet and he said there's a lot of it going around at the moment. Are any of your dogs suffering? I've given him some Metacam and giving him honey to soothe his throat. Any advice and tips would be great.

Kennel cough is like the human cold, no cure apart from letting it run it's course.

It'll run through the kennels, swap from one dog to the next, there's not a lot you can do. Oxytetracycline is useful for keeping any secondary infection down, always ask for advice from your vet. There's inoculations available but there's so many different strains of kennel cough it's almost impossible to stop it, all it'll do is give you a good night's sleep thinking you did your bit.

Likes been said no cure. Very light walks and nice decent sleeping area,it'll pass when its run its course, watch out for secondary infection
