craigo 137
acrypol Is very good Isoflex will do the job two. When comes replacing the roof I would re board it then fibre glass it or rubber it so have no problems with it then
devon flighter 421
any chance of venting the tumble drier outside ? we have a garage with corrugated *£$%^&* on the roof and condensation was awfull in the cold weather, i sheeted over with box profile and so far its been fine for the last 2 winters
craigo 137
Sorry just read it's condensation lol just put some form of fan in the wall to circulate the air around
ryaldinhio 4,635
Condensation is because of moisture in the air. Regardless of what u do with the doors a tumble drier venting inside will put moisture in the air inside. Warm air rises. Hence condensation on the roof. Vent the tumble drier outside. There will still be moist air in there and then you can deal with that next once you know the next issue.
mackem 26,800
Yup,vent outside, get a cheap hygrometer and stick it on the wall, its an indicator to the % of moisture in the air so you can assess the humidity levels.
Dinosaurs 2,101
Get a humidifier & a fan. Atb
Rabid 1,936
That's condensation not a leak, don't waste your money trying to fix something that isn't broke, fix the problem rather than treat the symptoms. The two things you do need to do, move the tumble dryer so that it vents outdoors, that's your biggest problem, and only the way to stop single skin roofing getting condensation is to insulate it, although onduline doesn't usually suffer from condensation (it's normally tin roofs that suffer) so I would do the dryer first and see how it is after, if your still having problems then insulate. Running a dehumidifier is false economy, burning more electric after purchase of said machine .....fine for repairing flood damage but as an ongoing solution, now way.
stones 23
Couple of 9"square air bricks high up in the wall facing the drier mate as has been said warm moist air rises the draught from outside should vent the warm air through the air bricks before it can condense
whiteracer 258
Would I still get condensation with the door open most days tho? The tumble dryer is next to the door! This is it this morning ....... frozen
stones 23
Could be that the open doors blowing the warm air back in to the garage mate so it condenses on the underside of the roof... either air bricks or a small hole in the wall to put an extractor tube through
big napper 3,604
Where the roof sits onto the walls take out anything that is stopping air comeing in underneath the roof sheets, (insulation or foam maybe) to let air in and circulate, once you get air flowing throu properly it will sort it. DIDO.1 22,844
Those corregated roofs just do that, even with ventilation and no tumble dryer. Made that mistake and lost alot of things due to damp. Just buy some sealable plastic boxes and even some of those shrink wrap bags until summer then rip the lot off and make it into a proper man cave
