as long as it's goats milk or lactol free and don't bother with the bread ..........
all the old timers use to give there ferrets bread soaked in milk and egg, I know now it's not the best thing for them, wonder where that idea came from ?

Probably from penury, stale bread, sour milk, and rotten eggs would have filled a hole when you were on the bones of your arse, still regret not having that second pain au chocolat the other morning

It's what I used to feed mine when I was a young kid because that's what I was taught to feed them .... to this day I can't understand why we used to throw away the rabbits head with the skin and guts instead of feeding it to the ferrets .... thank god times have changed ... I still cringe when I think what my poor ferrets had to live on and were expected to work hard .......

My grandfarthers both kept and worked ferrets around 1910 they always fed whole carcasses guts ,feathers , skin , the lot , they would never have dreamed of giving them bread and milk or pork product also up to the 1950s no woman would buy a rabbit that came without its head, heart , and liver.

Rabbits are only sold that way here in Spain, supermarkets and butchers are full of them ;)

Got the first ferret after it wondered into the back garden, my mother said ask the coal man if he's lost one, he hadn't so I asked what he fed his and he said bread and milk, she heard and bellowed from the kitchen "Milk slops!? Don't be bloody stupid, bloody tight old skinflint.."
