Shaman Ever Found It Sooner!

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I've been impressed with what I have seen so far.

Getting back into Ferrets after about five years AWOL. Left my last batch (hutches, nets, etc.) with some young gentlemen in Fife. First my Ferrets got nicked overnight, then, a few days later, said young gentlemen turned up at my door, explaining that as they'd heard my Ferrets had been stolen, maybe I wouldn't need my hutches!

Thought about it for day or so, and decided (with parental permission) to give them the hutches and all the gear on the grounds that they were better catching Rabbits than mugging old ladies!

I knew by this time I was moving to a part of the West Coast of Scotland that didn't have any Rabbits. So I wasn't too fussed.

But after a month or two, I found that withdrawal symptoms were setting-in, tried diversionary tactics like poultry, Ostriches (Rhea) etc. but the Sea-Eagles nicked the eggs then ate the adults!

Decided to stick to what I know and keep Ferrets again, love the beasts! Got Nine kits, mainly from Southern Scotland, to give me a varied gene pool, but tending towards my favourite Dark Eyed Whites.

I suppose there is the off chance that one of my jills will get loose and mated by a Pine Marten. Forbid the thought, but any offspring would be a formidable tool in the Red-Squirrel preservation programme.

Cheers, Bob.
