neems 2,406
Intermittent fasting (warrior diet for me) and an hour of exercise everyday, and I can't put on weight if I try. It's worth reading the book 'the warrior diet' and/or 'the anti-estrogenic diet' by Hofmekler even if you don't follow either of them.
bird 9,916
Cragman, you stole my thunder, spot on , it's easy, 2 pound a week I lose if done correctly, I've had a good July to now so 12 pounds has been added but come jan I'm looking forward to the challenge again and I'm 51, people do these silly diets then boom back on in a week or two, I've always put weight on easy since I was 20 whatever I did , and before you lot think I'm fat I'm only 12st Spot on bracken, thats my age my ideal weight is a shade under 12 1/2 stone, its crept up to 13,i dont put weight on easily but i have been out with mates loads the last month and its always restaurants, thats my goal then mate, same as you 2 pound a week, off to the gym later for an hour and plan my strategy on the treadmill. I am 13 st, but I am 5 ft 11 1/2 in, so 6ft as dam it lol, that not over weight for my height , I am 64 I am quite fit apart from my fooked back. how tall are both of you, and you builds ?, I am mid to large build .! twobob 1,497
Just get your head round it fellas, you don't need to change your routine that much, just be sensible. I'm 12st 3lb now and 58 years old. As we get older the metabolism changes and weight tends to stay on if you get into that lazy mode and biscuit pick. Seen lots of guys around my age with a nice gut coming on and tits that the wife would be proud of. That's not for me and I couldn't do what I do with lots of weight on, plus, I've got kids who won't want a fat dad waddling behind them. Take pride in how you look. I lamp with a big guy and he's dripping when we've had a walk round whereas I'm just ok because I'm fitter. If he'd keep it up, his weight would soon drop. what makes you think us fat cnuts dont like dripping?
Nik_B 3,790
Cut out processed carbs (pasta, bread, sugar etc) and booze and the weight will fall off like crazy
gnasher16 30,121
If you know your body and how it responds you only need a little bit of nutritional knowledge to lose/gain relatively large amounts of weight quite quickly its people who have never paid any attention to their weight that struggle as they expect sudden responses and when they dont get them give up.....im up over 19 stone at the moment which is about a stone over my best weight but i know it will come off easily, when you have been very active over many years you can experiment with your weight and be confident of not getting stuck at a weight your not happy with my goal is 17 stone by June/July which will be the lightest ive been for about 15 years if im not happy at that weight i,ll go back to my normal just over 18...... my understanding of my body and nutritional needs means none of it will be a struggle its only folk who allow themselves to get totally out of shape that really have to be dedicated about dieting. terryd 8,425
thats what i find tricky about this weight training lark. You have to eat more and put on weight but ideally not fat but then if I see a lb or two going on I feel i need to go for a run lol

dytkos 17,800
I run about 12 and half stone most of the time but the weight distribution varies Got a quick metabolism so I know this gut will disappear in a fortnight when all the xmas food and drink has gone and Im out hunting regularly again. Saying that, as I get older its the motivation thats harder. Cheers, D.
