MR TEA POT 1,287
What's to hate? If you can't be arsed to cook do what I do and just do a day long buffet. Cook your joint and prepare roasters day before. Don't buy kids over priced rubbish....get em an air rifle or fishing rod or a bike or a ferret or some chickens. If they moan then take the whole family and some presents down to the local children's hospice. Spend time together, enjoy, do whatever makes you all happy together. Some people have nothing this year I spend all year with my love ones doing things, don't need one day a year for that?...as for cooking it's just a Sunday dinner at the end of the day, again I have one with my loved ones every week...yes I agree some people have nothing this year,so I've told family and friends any presents I get(even though I told them I didn't want anything)...I'm donating to a local charity
cragman 2,791
Christmas is family time for me. I don't like all the commercialism these days but it's a time to be with the family and remember those that are no longer here. Don't forget the pensioners either, treat them to a beer or a bit of fodder

Gaz_1989 9,539
Not sure what's to hate. 2 weeks off work. Quality time with the family. Spoil the missus and little one on Christmas Day. Plenty of food and drink. I love it.
stevo79 569
It can be shit for people who have lost loved ones and it can't be nice for homeless or anyone up shit creek. But just to be a grinch and say it's all for nothing is bollox. As said its just a great time to eat like a pig and spend good time with your family and put your feet up. Bring it on I say??
Welsh_red 4,745
I like the build up. Looking worward to works do , kids really excited all the time, lights on the tree , kids up late watching Christmas films etc . As far as presents my Mrs Is on the ball , think she started buying for them in March . She sees something cheap she buys it . Never had a mad rush for any presents ever . Christmas eve Mrs always works in the pub till late so I wrap presents and get pissed on red wine watching godfather of a old film . Christmas day is good with the kids at ours then Were off to my mother in laws for food, then my parents in the afternoon then home . Kids will be in bed then a few friends are round and a few drinks. Boxing day is always a killer because everybody is out drinking and my Mrs works in the pub again so I'm Sat at home bloated . Never been a new years eve guy , rather the new years day drinking if I go out but around that time I'm gagging to get back to normality and work. But all the free time allowed me to get stuff done . My tool shed looks like a bomb site. I'm going to start taking the ferret out which I'm buzzing for. Go clay shooting with my friends and general kids stuff. Swimming , bikes and stuff like that. It's better than work
