big napper 3,619
had a few hours on les,s permission again today, i got set up near a few trees where he told me it should be a decent place to sit, all the shots were similar distance as the other day, 40-50 mtrs, 3 woodys & 3 collards, 5 birds were chest shots and they dropped like stones, i had 1 clear head shot and got it (woody), weird how the head shot birds flap around and the chest shots dont even flinch, cheers again les pal. 6 Quote Link to post

Jonjon79 13,358
Good result I've always thought it odd how pigeons react like that - flapping about from a head shot and, dropping stone dead from a chest shot. I've found they also go quietly with a decent lower neck shot 2 Quote Link to post

Shot one today, high up it was, back of the neck shot, it fell flapping, and hit the deck, not a movement. It was quite a weird thing to see. It's like the bird was made from steel, and the floor was like a magnet, it didn't even bounce. Though, can't beat a shot from behind between the shoulder blades. Kinda hard mind when a birds in a tree. Quote Link to post
