mark williams 7,561
In my areas things have really slowed down, so much so that I have swapped back to the air rifles rather than the shot guns for now, plus air guns are silent in the countryside. Here`s my natural hide again. I`ve removed the camo netting from the HW 100 and Primos, to get you a picture of what`s happening. By the way, I am in " full gillie suit also". Three hour session and all I was presented with were two possible shots, - one was a large Jay and the other was an "obscured from view" wood pigeon. I took the Jay at 28 yds with the HW 100 KS using FAP`s, shot through the heart/ lungs it new nothing and simply crumpled. Those Falcons are leaving the barrel at approx` 620 ft/sec , weighing 13.4 g and incredibly accurate. The wood pigeon was that badly obscured I had to leave the sticks behind and make my way slowly and gingerly for a freehand shot. I managed to pull the shot off with good placement to the heart/ lungs and the Falcon broke the pigeons neck exiting out the back. 10 Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,561
My youngest son, Shane, has a girlfriend who`s grand dad has asked for a pigeon to cook " like the good old days". So here it is, he`s having it tomorrow, roasted with veg` , mash and gravy. The birds crop was crammed with those rowen berries. ( mountain ash) Another picture, atb 10 Quote Link to post

Jonjon79 13,358
I do like those Falcons - I'm not surprised it did that damage ....... The dog's looking happy and useful as ever 1 Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,561
Yes, Jays are very good looking, as are Magpies but both birds will eat game bird and song bird eggs as soon as look at them, including chicks. Magpies will kill chicks for killings sake. Any corvid - it`s good night Vienna. 2 Quote Link to post
