Badger cull

Recommended Posts

I hear that a connection between t.b. and badger is leading to a culling programme which the government can`t fund so the farmers will be asked to carry it out. I apologies for the sketchy nature of this but it was a on a radio programme on radio 4 morning.

I will post more info If I can find it

Hopefully this will stop the stupid badger laws, one terrier to ground and digging to them is the most humane method...from what i've heard anyway... :icon_eek:

that the best or a 5 ft post 4 1/2 ft in the ground ans snare them

Yes GAS or GUNS not to sure about dogs guns probley have to be something like a .222

id hate to think how many wounded badgers would suffer a long death from a wrongly placed bullet,

and yet id hate to be a badger gagging on gas as it takes it's life away ?

if i was a badger and knew my time was up i would much rather lay down in my bed of grass

with some terrier baying at me,and pissing me off a bit and then get a slug between my eyes at close range.

its the most human

and fair way they could go

to get an efective cull on the road ,why dont we bring back organised badger digging cluds.

it would cost the goverment nowt,ok it would realy piss the badger groups off,but dont you think the farmers have had enougth.

and its time the gov turned thier backs on the pest huggers to, for to long now they have bent over for them, and its time

things were done our way.

ok it wouldent take a lot to organise the digs and maybe an oficial from defra could be there to over see thing ?

far more humane way i think

My worries about gassing is that many other "non-target" animals will also be killed....foxes, rabbits, newts, frogs, voles, mice etc.....all these can and do live within the confines of fox and badger earths.

I hope the powers that be understand the danger posed to non-target creatures.

You know what they'll do? They'll get people to catch them in live capture traps, then pay a huge amount of money for someone to go around with a humane despatcher instead of letting people control them properly like they have done for hundreds of years.
