johonawhitness 110
Tuned 95 or 98 HW80 are better for FAC gun and that' why i said 95 , better as a 12 ft/lbs gun in either cal and very nice in .20 as well I wouldn't say better at all,the would still be smoother to shoot. Even once both tuned.. You've had a 98 so the it would be for me. Great guns. Heavy yeh so what(we ent no old men). Either way you will have a nice gun so enjoy the decision making Edited December 16, 2016 by johonawhitness Quote Link to post
dayglowfrog 56
What about a .25 hw80 ? You would be better off ordering it from Germany but it would get here in Time for Christmas . 1 Quote Link to post
Paulnix 426
I think you answered your own question to be honest," I've had a 98 in .177. Damn good. Proper damn good. Miss it actually. Love the adjustable cheek piece and so on. " Saying this as this gun will be a lifetime gun ( assume you will pass it down as well ) and will have an emotional tie because of who if buying it for you, seems you already have a emotional tie to this model. I have limited knowledge on Air guns but this seems to me to fit the bill for the reason you are getting the gun rather than the choice of which gun, if that makes sense ? 1 Quote Link to post

PeskyWabbits 464
Rez, why did you sell your original Hw98? Isn't the 98 a HW95 with an adjustable stock and a heavy shrouded barrel? The cylinder and rest of it will be 95. So your options are more likely to be a gun as heavy as the underlever you already have - HW80 A gun with adjustable stock and heavy barrel, that will be too heavy to lug aroud so you will use it in the back garden or on sitting and waiting forays. Or get an HW95 that makes the most sense but you don't really fancy. Or an imp that you were so impressed with earlier in the year. If selling your 98 was on financial grounds, this is your opportunity to replace it with the clear conscience that because you have emotional ties to it this time, it would be a proper keeper.
