Nik_B 3,790
The wife's drink of choice is Guinness and black So what we know so far is that most of the hard arsed THL hunters are really fussy eaters and drink shandy and the women drink ale.... I think I am definitely in a coma......none of this is happening
neil cooney 10,416
Up until a few years ago before Ireland started get all f****n' PC you used to see only pregnant women drinking a glass (not a pint, we're not animals) of Guinness with some blackcurrant in it. Doctors often prescribed it because Guinness is high in iron. But then again, here in Ireland in those days we didn't have gays and that's probably who drinks it nowadays.

I can't speak for Ireland, but over here, Guiness use to be given to the frail, elderly. I've seen patients in the old geriatric hospitals encouraged to have a glass of an evening, but it was never actually prescribed. It's not especially high in iron, but it does contain a !ot of calories in a small amount - handy, if you're caring for a frail old fella who's not eating very well. Cant stand the stuff, personally.............
