Pirate 9000 676
The sad fact of all this is working dogs if not destroyed by RSPCA will spend their lives in their kennels, all because of some prick taking pictures on phone, I bet police can't believe there luck when they come across such fuckwits. forest of dean redneck 11,632
I used to think STIFFMEISTER was a c**t. Having said that a lot of what he has said on this thread makes a lot of sense in calling out some hypocrisy within our Midst. I think he is much less of a c**t now. You have to admit he has a point, whether you like it or not. Personally I think these boys that got caught are wankers, I can't see the attraction of videoing or photographing anything I do really. I don't have a Facebook, this is the closest thing I do to social media. I can't condone poaching having had run ins with poachers myself but I understand the sentiment of the argument that in reality if you are hunting then the killing of deer with dogs, Hares with dogs etc etc etc is no different on land you have permission on or land you haven't. I disagree with the whole fox ina cage thing. I don't understand how that is any kind of test for a dog, or setting a dog on a domestic animal like a Llama. Maybe that's my ignorance. Why thank you , Glad to see that a little bit of lateral thinking can sometimes remove all that smoke and mirrors For anyone who thinks I'm some sort of sadist or whatever, I just can't see how we can vilify those amongst our ranks who are caught doing acts that occur daily in our sport whilst yearning to own a canine capable of such acts in daydreams Lurcher work has more scope and variety than any other field sport, we are a dying breed men. We will have 100 years of sport left maximum. Be under no illusions , if the ban is lifted we won't be taken for the ride , we are the guys bearing the brunt of the small fines, the driving bans, those small articles hidden away in the local papers with names addresses etc. If a hunt is prosecuted , its the hunts crime If a lad with a bull cross gets lifted, their scum I was raised to show empathy and respect to the quarry, to the dogs and more importantly to my kith and kin, Do I support or condone what occurred? Certainly not Will I vilyfy them? Never I don't even give it that ,I reckon 50 years and it will be tightly controlled guns and cage traps. Also reckon fisherman want to wake up as I can see coarse fishing getting attention again. Maximus Ferret 2,063
Hard line antis do indeed want the world to become vegan but they are as much of a minority as we are. Maybe more so? It's the majority of meat eating, possibly animal loving, and possibly angling people in the middle who's opinions we ought to worry about. As Trenchfoot has said, a moral case for hunting is easy to make but baiting caged animals, chasing farmers in cars and so on won't help wider public opinion at all and the opinion of the wider public is what will bring an end to hunting altogether in the end. Not antis. Without public support they'd be powerless. When Forest of Dean said 50 years that's what I was already thinking. Caroline Lucas want's angling banned too but wouldn't admit it because she'd lose votes for the green party. 2 Quote Link to post
