Deker 3,478
I asked a similar question a few months ago when my lad was after a 17HMR Synthetic Savage. I got very little response (but that was on another site). I also got in touch with Savage via their website requesting a brochure etc....... I'm still waiting. So I'm no expert on Savage but after seeing and touching a few my lad settled on a CZ Style. Savage did have some interesting woodwork on some models though which CZ could not match. So it's a personal opinion, I have a CZ Silhouette as well. Savage has been around a while and I have never heard anything BAD, but then again I have never heard anything particularly good either (but I am hearing mixed opinion on the very latest trigger they have just introduced). My lad in typical fashion originally decided he could not bring himself around to buying the same gun as Dad, but after seeing and handling a couple of Savage he decided he prefered the CZ. Does that help...who knows..all it really says is that we both prefer CZ in the "affordable" gun area. Cheers Deker Edited December 11, 2007 by Deker Quote Link to post
