Phil Lloyd 10,738
It was the first time I ever seen small lurchers work on telly or in the flesh. I must have been only 15 or 16 at the time. So was I right Phil, was it a Jack Russell cross ? Yes,.. 1 Quote Link to post

stagmad 91
I had a parson russell x whippet, only ever used him on foxes he was plenty hard enough, but he didn't push cover aswell as i would have liked, he got in to the habit of hanging round the out side waiting for the flush like a running dog, only problem was he lacked the legs in the open country. I believe most of the litter were the same. I hunt big areas of cover, for some one that does small patches or ferrets he probably would have suited that. Quote Link to post
Silversnake 1,099
I have a bitch the sire is saluki the dam mostly whippet with a little bit of staghound and a little bit fox terrier (not jrt) physically you wouldn't know she has any terrier in her but mentally it is very clear there is terrier in her blood. So far it is probably more of a negative thing as she likes fight and bark at dogs from the back of my 4x4 and just generally be a bit of a pest around other dogs. She is not quite twelve months yet so I hope she settles down and learns to direct her fire at her quarry soon! Quote Link to post
